ROANOKE, W. Va. – It was a two-horse race at Elimination Match 3 of the General Tire Team Series Costa Qualifier Presented by Toyota. Team Builders FirstSource pulled out the victory by a 1-pound, 2-ounce margin over team Crockett Creek, boating 17 bass weighing 41 pounds 4 ounces.
While team Builders FirstSource’s Andy Morgan and Fletcher Shryock each posted seven fish, Morgan’s catch accounted for nearly half the team’s total weight, with 20-14 to Shryock’s 13-7. Add in James Watson’s three bass for 6-15, and it spelled success for the trio. Team Crockett Creek’s Bradley Roy, David Dudley and Greg Vinson landed 20 scorable bass for 40-3.
Team Sqwincher’s Fred Roumbanis, Justin Lucas and Skeet Reese couldn’t keep up the pace and missed the cut line with 14-13 on seven bass.
