LONGVIEW, Texas – It was a tight race with some big numbers during the first match of the Builders FirstSource Qualifier Presented by Berkley as the three teams combined for 128 bass weighing 203 pounds, 9 ounces. In the end, Team Star brite outshone the rest.

Team captain Alton Jones led the charge with 27 fish weighing 36-9 – that, combined with Dave Lefebre and Brent Chapman’s totals, accounted for day’s best 51 bass weighing 77-4. Close behind them was Team Ferguson (Stephen Browning, Anthony Gagliardi and Keith Poche), who finished 6-14 shy of the top spot with 43 fish weighing 70-7. Team Kubota (Alton Jones Jr., Britt Myers, and Nick LeBrun) missed the elimination line with 34 fish weighing 55-14.

Team Star brite and Team Ferguson will advance to the semifinals while team Kubota packs up for home. Six more teams will duke it out for four remaining spots in the Builders FirstSource Qualifier.

The General Tire Team Series Builders FirstSource Qualifier Presented by Berkley will air on Outdoor Channel as six, two-hour original episodes each Saturday from 2-4 p.m. EDT. The full television schedule can be found at MajorLeagueFishing.com/tv-schedule.
