LONGVIEW, Texas – While team Knighten Industries won Match 3 of the Builders FirstSource Qualifier Presented by Berkley by a wide margin with 42 bass weighing 78 pounds, 13 ounces, the race to stay above the elimination line was a tight one as team Sqwincher made the cut by less than 2 pounds with 34 bass weighing 56-10 to team Smokey Mountain Herbal Snuff & Pouches’ 26 bass weighing 54-11.
The win was truly a team effort for team Knighten Industries’ Dean Rojas, Takahiro Omori and Michael Neal as each angler contributed between 20 and 30 pounds. They will be joined at the semifinals by team Sqwincher’s Mark Daniels Jr., Randy Howell and Cliff Crochet. Meanwhile, Edwin Evers, Josh Bertrand and Marty Robinson of team Smokey Mountain Herbal Snuff & Pouches are headed home after just barely missing the cut.
