ROANOKE, W. Va. – Unlike the previous matches, the Wild Card match of the General Tire Team Series Costa Qualifier Presented by Toyota was anything but a close race. Team Smokey Mountain Herbal Snuff & Pouches caught nearly double the total brought in by team Builders FirstSource, clinching a spot in the Bass Pro Shops Team Series Championship as a result.
Anchored by Casey Ashley’s 14 fish weighing 34 pounds, 12 ounces, team Smokey Mountain (which also included Terry Scroggins and Jacob Wall) finished the day with 23 bass for 50-7. Meanwhile, team Builders FirstSource (Fletcher Shryock, Andy Morgan and James Watson) brought in 15 bass weighing 27-7.
The Team Series Championship will take place after the Team Series’ final qualifying event – the Builders FirstSource Qualifier Presented by Berkley in Longview, Texas.
The General Tire Team Series Costa Qualifier Presented by Toyota will air on Outdoor Channel as six, two-hour original episodes each Saturday from 2-4 p.m. EDT. The full television schedule can be found at MajorLeagueFishing.com/tv-schedule.
