The high school angling community in Texas and the Winsboro Fishing Team are in mourning after beloved teammate Kale Robinson, 17, passed out on the weigh-in stage Saturday at the Lake Cypress Springs High School tournament. He was rushed to the hospital and officials said he was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital. Robinson was well liked and all smiles and the people that knew him smoke fondly of him. He had actually caught his personal best bass in that tournament.
The Texas High School Bass Association offered this statement of sympathy:
“We find some solace in knowing that Kale was surrounded by friends and family, doing what he loved, and even catching his personal best,” the group said. “We are just so deeply sorry for the loss of this incredible young man who had a bright future ahead of him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We ask for the continued prayers (for) Kale’s family, friends, and Winnsboro Fishing Team as we all grieve during this difficult time.”
Our hearts and prayers go out to Robinson’s family, friends and teammates.
