WHAT SETS IT APART?
With the help of Bassmaster Elite Series pros the Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS rods are made to withstand the conditions the Elite Series provides. The new AGS (Air Guide System for increased lightness and feel) rods are lighter than the previous model that was made in 2018 by 5%. The new rods feature the air sensor reel seat for upgraded sensitivity. What made the 2018 model great was the SVF Nanoplus Super Volume Fiber blanks, and that is back for 2023 giving the rod increased sensitivity with an unsanded matte finish.
The X45 blank construction adds power and deletes blank twist. It improves rod toughness and prevents the blank from missing its round form. The deletion of the twist allows for a tougher, lighter and more sensitive rod.
HOW DO I USE IT?
The Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS rods come in nine different casting models and six spinning models. The casting models feature everything from a 6-foot, 10-inch medium for jerkbaits all the way up to a 7-foot, 9-inch heavy for froggin’ as well as anything you could need for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, jigs, crankbaits, worms, pitching baits, etc. The 6-foot, 10-inch medium designed by Patrick Walters features a cork handle as well the 7-foot, 5-inch medium heavy designed by Cory Johnston.
The spinning models feature a rod for anything you need to throw from a drop shot, a Ned rig, a shaky head, swimbait, Neko rig, wacky rig and hair jigs. The spinning models range from a 7-foot, 1-inch medium all the way up to a 7-foot, 6-inch medium light that were designed with help from Elite Series pros Chris Johnston and Seth Feider.

Recently I got the opportunity to use one of the new AGS rods, and I am thoroughly impressed. I used the 6-foot, 10-inch medium jerkbait casting rod designed by Patrick Walters. This particular model had the cork handles. What is not to like about a rod with cork handles that is light as a feather? Plus, I should mention I am shorter guy, so the 6-foot, 10-inch medium for a jerkbait proved perfect for me.
